IF the crime rate wouldn’t go up when we run out of disability money I’d say let SSI run out and make sure the people taking advantage of other peoples hard earned money work again. I know plenty of people on disability that are perfectly capable of working. Even I qualify for disability but instead I would rather work a real job because it gives me pleasure to make my own money. I am currently a driver with Uber and because I’d rather not do that all my life I have deciding to pursue being a singer/songwriter professionally, because that is what I’ve loved to do since I was a kid. This whole ableist protest is ridiculous because we are literally the cause of people’s own depression and disabling them farther by allowing them to believe that they aren’t qualified to do anything. Kevin strudges so what that you have Aspergers there’s plenty of people with that who can still work difficult jobs follow your dreams whether ot still be truck driving or whatever they are and don’t let some asshole tell you that your too dumb to learn it because that’s definitely not true. Kevin Sccandura get your act together, go to counseling or just take a break from relationships; get then keep your record clean, then go to law school or get your shit together with driving, keep focused and don’t let girls get in your way then continue to work driving jobs, don’t go on disability. And Stephanie So what that your arms fucked up I’ve seen a girl with no arms make a career out of painting because she loved it so much that she got good painting with her feet find something you love and do it . Everyone! You can climb a mountain with only 1 arm and 1 leg if you want it bad enough. I’ve seen it done. DO IT. Don’t hold yourself back. Stop saying I can’t and start looking for what you can still do. You’re still perfectly capable of plenty more than you think you are the only people who aren’t capable are vegetables. Disability is going to be gone by 2030 if nothing is done about it. I want to see each of you making an effort to get on your own feet. Within the next year make it a challenge to either get off disability and start working a steady job or start to pursue a career path of your choice. Do better, not worse.
